OTTAWA — Cara Zwibel, Director of Fundamental Freedoms for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA), made the following remarks today:

Alongside CCF and the Ottawa Coalition we have requested the public order emergency commission to call upon Premier Doug Ford and Solicitor General Sylvia Jones to give testimony.

Premier Ford must testify. And so must the Solicitor General.

Following the testimony of representatives of the City of Ottawa it has become clear that their actions and inactions are of the utmost importance for Canadians and the commission to understand.

We do not make this request lightly and hope that both the Premier and Solicitor General will cooperate with the commission if they are called forward.
