D\u00c9CISION DU NCCM ET DE LA CCLA EN APPEL DU PROJET DE LOI 21<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

MONTR\u00c9AL \u2013 Le Conseil national des musulmans canadiens (NCCM) et l\u2019Association canadienne des libert\u00e9s civiles (CCLA) annoncent leur intention de faire appel de la d\u00e9cision de la Cour sup\u00e9rieure du Qu\u00e9bec concernant le projet de loi 21 devant la Cour d\u2019appel du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Cela fait presque deux ans de citoyennet\u00e9 de seconde zone pour les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois qui portent des symboles religieux comme le hijab, la kippah ou le turban. Nous avons promis de ne pas cesser de nous battre tant que la citoyennet\u00e9 de seconde classe ne prendrait fin \u00e0 tous les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois. \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Yusuf Faqiri, directeur des affaires qu\u00e9b\u00e9coises du NCCM.<\/p>\n

Le juge Marc-Andr\u00e9 Blanchard a reconnu qu\u2019il y a des probl\u00e8mes fondamentaux avec le projet de loi 21. Les r\u00e9cits sur la fa\u00e7on dont de vraies personnes continuent d\u2019\u00eatre l\u00e9s\u00e9es par le projet de loi 21 sont claires dans cette d\u00e9cision. Il y a de vraies cons\u00e9quences dans la vie des pr\u00e9judices caus\u00e9s par le projet de loi 21. <\/p>\n

\u00ab Le gouvernement veut nous faire croire que la d\u00e9cision de la cour divise les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois. En fait, la l\u00e9gislation connue sous le nom de projet de loi 21 est elle-m\u00eame la source de division, de discrimination et de pr\u00e9judice pour la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise. Les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois m\u00e9ritent le choix et la libert\u00e9 face \u00e0 l\u2019oppression gouvernementale \u2013 et c\u2019est pourquoi nous continuerons \u00e0 combattre le projet de loi 21. \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, directrice du programme d\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 de la CCLA.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est plut\u00f4t la Loi sur la la\u00efcit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00c9tat en soi qui est \u00e0 l\u2019origine de cette division et des cons\u00e9quences f\u00e2cheuses et discriminatoires pour la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise.
